FAQs

Why isn't the correct stylesheet being applied?

If the specified stylesheet doesn't seem to have been applied for your browser, it may be due to one of the following
possible problems. Please check to see if any of the following apply.

• Your browser does not support stylesheets (CSS). iCab up to and including Pre2.4 doesn't.
• Your browser has stylesheets disabled.
• Your browser does not support JavaScript. Early versions of iCab and Explorer don't.
• Your browser has JavaScript disabled.
• Your browser is set to identify itself as a different browser. Opera, iCab and OmniWeb can do this.
  CSS Write Pro should properly detect Opera and iCab in any case, but it won't properly detect
  any other browsers which aren't truthfully identifying themselves.
• You're using iCab, and it's set to identify itself as a browser version less than 4.0.
  CSS Write Pro deliberately doesn't apply stylesheets to pre-4.0 browsers, except for Explorer 3.
  This is because most pre-4.0 browsers don't support stylesheets (CSS).
• You're behind a software or hardware firewall which prevents your browser from sending
  information about itself. Intego NetBarrier 2 firewall software can do this.
• Your browser is not configured to, or cannot, send information about itself.
• Your browser is of a version number less than 4.0.
• Your browser is a custom browser, created with either the Netscape or Explorer browser
  customisation kits, and it has been customised such that the information it sends about itself
  is useless to the CSS Write Pro Action.
• Your browser is some other kind of custom browser, for example one made in Visual Basic, which
  doesn't send correct/useful information about itself.
• Your browser is a proprietary cellphone browser, not based on Netscape or Explorer.
• You're not actually using a web brower of any kind.

Why isn't there a version of CSS Write Pro for Dreamweaver/Freeway/another program?

If you'd like to see a version of CSS Write Pro for an application other than GoLive, please let us know.
We'll be happy to create versions for other programs if there's sufficient demand.

I know of another browser which CSS Write Pro doesn't specifically support. What can I do?

Visit this page to find the necessary information about your browser, then send that information to us. We can
then update CSS Write Pro to support the new browser (which we will gladly do).

Where can I get copies of all the browsers which CSS Write Pro supports, to use for testing?

Take a look at the documentation included with CSS Write Pro; you'll find links to where you can download every
browser/version supported by the action, even old versions.

Where can I find information about how each browser specifically supports CSS?

Links to appropriate sites are included in the documentation which accompanies CSS Write Pro.

 

If none of the above apply, or if one of the above does apply but you're sure that CSS Write Pro isn't doing the right
thing (because of a bug or even by incorrect design), then please report the problem.
